GeForce Now Bolsters Apple Vision Pro’s Gaming Capabilities
Previously, the Vision Pro faced certain compatibility issues with gaming software, affecting its appeal among potential buyers. Now, the popular cloud gaming service GeForce Now has expanded its support to include Apple’s advanced AR glasses, enhancing the overall gaming experience.
With GeForce Now, users can access over 2,000 game titles on the Vision Pro. This integration significantly broadens the platform’s utility, making it more competitive in the market. However, the experience is not without its limitations.
Controller Requirements
Gaming on the Vision Pro will require the use of a gamepad controller. Nvidia provides a list of recommended controllers on their official website. Both Xbox and Sony’s DualShock 4 controllers are among the supported options. Users can enjoy a wide range of titles with reliable control support.
Internet Connectivity
Gaming via GeForce Now demands a stable internet connection. Nvidia specifies on their support page that players need a bandwidth of 40 MBps for 4K resolution at 60 frames per second. For Full HD resolution at the same frame rate, a transfer rate of 25 MBps is sufficient.
Limited手势 Control and Mouse/Keyboard Input
It’s worth noting that gesture control functionality of the Vision Pro is not available during gaming sessions. Additionally, the use of a mouse and keyboard is limited, only permitted when navigating the GeForce Now app itself, not while playing.
Compatibility with Other VR/AR Devices
Beyond the Vision Pro, GeForce Now’s latest app update supports several other VR and AR headsets, including:
- Meta Quest 3
- Meta Quest 3S
- Pico 4
- Pico 4 Ultra
The diverse range of supported devices underscores GeForce Now’s commitment to expanding its capabilities and catering to a broader audience of gamers.
Non-VR Adapted Games
While the integration boosts accessibility, some games have not been specifically adapted for VR environments. In these cases, the headset functions primarily as a display device, providing an immersive experience through its large screen rather than a fully immersive VR experience featuring head tracking.
