Apple Creator Studio: Final Cut, Logic & Pixelmator Bundle

This Tuesday, Apple presented Apple Creator Studio, a new collection of creative applications that brings together the brand’s most powerful tools in a single subscription. The novelty marks a paradigm shift in the distribution of software from the Cupertino company, getting closer to the creative “suite” strategy popularized by Adobe, but maintaining the exclusive focus on the Apple ecosystem.

From Wednesday, January 28th, users will have access in a single package to the Final Cut Pro video editor, the Logic Pro music studio and the Pixelmator Pro image editor, which is now also coming to the iPad. The service also includes complementary Motion, Compressor and MainStage tools for Mac, as well as intelligent features and content premium for Keynote, Pages, and Numbers productivity apps.

A flexible alternative to one-time purchasing

Apple Creator Studio hits the market with a monthly cost of $12.99 (the price in euros is still awaiting official confirmation) or $129 per year. The package includes a free trial month. For the education sector — university students and teachers — Apple proposes a reduced price of $2.99 per month or $29.99 annually.

Unlike the restrictive model of some competitors, Apple maintains a single purchase option for those who prefer not to subscribe. The Mac versions of Final Cut Pro, Logic Pro, Pixelmator Pro, Motion, Compressor, and MainStage remain available for individual purchase from the Mac App Store.

Eddy Cue, senior vice president of software and services from Apple, highlights that the new service offers “great value” and allows creators to “pursue their craft and develop skills” with easy access to intuitive tools.

Video and audio with AI “superpowers”

Artificial intelligence goes through all the announced news. In Final Cut Pro for Mac and iPad, workflow efficiency is enhanced with tools like “Transcript Search.” This feature allows you to find the perfect sound clip from hours of footage just by typing phrases into the search bar. “Visual Search” locates exact moments in the video by searching for objects or actions.

For quick edits, the new “Montage Maker” uses AI to analyze footage and automatically assemble a dynamic video, adjusting the pace and reframing horizontal content into vertical formats (auto crop), ideal for social networks.

In music creation, Logic Pro introduces “Synth Player”, a virtual musician that generates realistic synthesizer performances, and “Chord ID”, which analyzes any audio or MIDI recording to identify the chord progression, making composition easier for those with less knowledge of music theory.

Pixelmator Pro debuts on iPad

One of the big surprises is the arrival of Pixelmator Pro on the iPad. The image editor brings to the tablet Apple’s advanced editing tools, full support for Apple Pencil and features like “Super Resolution” to upscale photos using AI. The application has been optimized for touch and includes gestures specific to the new Apple Pencil Pro, such as “squeeze”.

Full access to these capabilities requires hardware updated. The version of Final Cut Pro included in the studio requires a Mac with an Apple Silicon or Intel processor running macOS 15.6 or higher. The most advanced AI features, such as “Transcript Search”, require Apple Silicon processors (M1 or later) on the Mac, or iPads with chips recent ones like the A16, A17 Pro or M1.

Apple reinforces that productivity applications Keynote, Pages, Numbers and Freeform will remain free for all users, with new features in Creator Studio focusing on content premium and additional intelligence features.
