ALBUQUERQUE, New Mexico — The Albuquerque Police Department will hold a press conference on Tuesday, January 13, 2026 at 2:30 pm to provide details regarding a shooting between an officer and a carjacking suspect that occurred on December 21, 2025.
Authorities reported that an agent was hit by a gunshot, but was not injured when the bullet hit his police radio. The suspect was shot several times and later died from his injuries.
The conference will be held in the APD Main Building, Fifth Floor, in the Police Chief’s Conference Room.
