More than a month ago, we told you about the Anbernic RG DS. A video of the handheld device surfaced around the same time, although the authenticity of the video was debated at the time. At least one YouTuber even went so far as to claim, without basis, that it was a pure invention of AI. Today, it’s official: the Anbernic RG DS does exist, and while the video that surfaced may have been created using AI, it is authentic as it has been officially confirmed by Anbernic. The company has released a video that once again showcases the Anbernic RG DS.
The description and title of the video are almost more exciting than the video itself. Anbernic claims that the model will launch for less than $100, although no specific pricing information has been released yet. The same goes for the release date, although we expect the model to hit the market in a few weeks rather than a few months.
The new part of the video released by Anbernic shows the Anbernic RG DS from different angles and in other colors, namely blue, white and a partially transparent body. The model is equipped with two screens, two joysticks, a directional pad and action buttons. No information on the integrated SoC or the dual displays is available yet. A Reddit user ( ) tried to estimate the dimensions from the images, which is relatively accurate using the USB-C port as a reference point
