Christmas markets play overtime
Regarding the closure of the Christmas markets, the dates also vary greatly. Kaysersberg, Riquewihr et Soultz-sous-Forêt will lower the curtain on Sunday, December 21.
Molsheim will end on Monday 22 and Strasbourg Wednesday, December 24 in the evening.
The Christmas market Mulhouse will be closed on December 25 and December 26 in the morning but will continue until Saturday December 27 in the evening, as Thann. Eguisheim will close on December 30, just like Haguenau.
HAS Obernaithe Christmas market, gastronomy and crafts as well as the exhibition on Asian nativity scenes will close their doors on Wednesday December 31.

+9% of overnight stays in 2024
In 2024, the number of nights in Alsace had, according to the ADT (Tourism Development Association), increased by 9% during the Christmas market period compared to 2023, an already record year. There were 5.3 million overnight stays recorded between November 23 and December 31, 2024. French customers represented 54% of visitors accommodated (including 4% Alsatians), ahead of the Germans (13%), the Swiss (6%), the Spanish (5%) and the Americans (4%).
