Liverpool confirmed on Monday the recruitment of the Swedish Alexander Isak from Newcastle. A transfer deemed record in England and estimated at 145 million euros without the bonuses, according to the press.

The 25 -year -old striker joined the English champion after a several week show with Newcastle, his club since 2022 for whom he scored 23 goals in 34 games last season in the Premier League.

Newcastle was content to confirm ‘the sale of striker Alexander Isak in Liverpool for a record amount in the United Kingdom’ in a laconic statement published Monday evening.

The Swedish international (52 selections), who still had three years of contract with the ‘Magpies’, will bring No 9 to the Reds.

The amount of the transfer, not revealed, amounts to 125 million pounds (145 million euros) but could reach 130 million (150 million) if the associated bonuses are reached during his stay in Anfield, according to the British press.

This places Isak on the podium of the most expensive recruits in history behind Brazilian Neymar (222 million Barcelona at PSG in 2017) and the French Kylian Mbappé (180 million Monaco at PSG in 2018).

He now holds the record for a first league transfer ahead, in particular, Moises Caicedo (from Brighton to Chelsea in 2023), Enzo Fernandez (from Benfica to Chelsea in 2023) or Florian Wirtz, his new teammate in Liverpool, arrived this summer from Leverkusen.
