Ale Capetillo, in an interview, mentioned that the mantilla is Spanish, originating from Seville, where ‘Yeya’ is from. Her grandmother gifted it to her last February, also teaching her to play castanets. “I knew that I had to carry it yes or yes for the sentimental value it has for me “, Ale Capetillo explained. Designer Lorena Formoso, whom Ale Capetillo met during a photoshoot, created the dream dress, incorporating the mantilla. “I wanted to tell my Yeya’s story and gather it a lot with that sentimental part of the mantilla and everything”, she added.

The Mantilla’s Journey to the Wedding

“I knew that I had to carry it yes or yes for the sentimental value it has for me.”

During a visit to Seville in October 2024, Ale Capetillo discovered the perfect mantilla while searching for a fan. She tried on several, including one with a traditional comb and another with a tiara. It was then that she decided to wear a mantilla instead of a traditional veil.
