In a post on the X platform, Albaniz confirmed that the main steadfast fleet ship was attacked by a drone while it was in the port of in Tunisia.
She stressed the need to provide urgent protection for two other boats on their way to Tunisia to join the resilience fleet.
In her speech in front of a supportive gathering of the global steadfast fleet in the capital, Tunis, Albaniz expressed its support for the fleet aimed at breaking the siege on Gaza, stressing the importance of humanitarian sacrifice in the face of the continuous Israeli destruction of the sector.
While the fleet activists confirmed that the ship was attacked, the Tunisian Ministry of the Interior denied the authenticity of that news, noting that what happened is just a limited fire in the survival jackets on board the ship without human or material damage.
The Global Resilience Fleet includes about 20 ships with the participation of hundreds of activists from more than 40 countries, who gathered off the Tunisian coast in preparation for the collective sailing towards Gaza, in an attempt to break the siege and open a humanitarian corridor.
This initiative comes in light of the continuation of the Israeli war on Gaza since October 7, 2023, which has so far left tens of thousands of people dead and wounded, the majority of them are children and women, in addition to thousands of missing and displaced people amid a worsening famine.
