Chitrangda Singh, known for her role in ‘HOUSEFull 5‘, has often discussed her near involvement in films like Tanu weds and Gangster. However, another film she was slated to appear in was the 2003 movie Chalte chalte with Shah Rukh Khan. What led to her not being a part of it?

Singh explained, “Aishwarya was already a part of it and they started shooting. Some mix up happened and they were stuck in the middle and looking for someone. Aziz Mirza had seen my work and was Sudhir MishraS close friend and wanted to work with me. they reached out to me, that’s what Shah Rukh told me.”

She added, “This was the time when I gave up work and changed my phone number. So it didn’t happen.”

Reflecting on “Housefull 5” Success

The actress shared her thoughts on the unpredictable nature of audience preferences. “Nobody knows what the audiences want to watch, what they are going to enjoy. Do they want to watch a thriller or a love story? What is it? Everyone was keeping their fingers crossed all the time. we were messaging each othre also ‘Fingers crossed.’ I am glad that people are happy to see a comedy.”

She also touched upon the concept of having two potential endings in the film, where she embodies the killer in version B. “At that time we were not told right till the October of last year.Even when we were shooting for diffrent climaxes,the cast was unaware too. Akshay knew and whoever was in the scene knew. Sajid was very clear he wants to keep this a secret.”

Embracing the Villain Role in “Housefull 5”

“I think the villain is the most captivating character. The evil is always more exciting. Maya is a very interesting character and there is a reason why she turns evil. I got to do a little bit of action and we mixed with thriller and comedy, it was lovely.I loved playing her.”
