A few days ago Google surprised device users Pixel 10 by activating with an update for these devices the Quick Share functionality compatible with Apple’s AirDrop technology: in practice it is possible to exchange photos, videos and other documents using Apple’s proprietary technology known to iPhone and Mac users. Everything has been done without Apple’s support and the idea was to offer this feature to other Android device manufacturers as well.
Everything started well but after a few days of the availability of the new function various users started to complain stability issues with Wi-Fi connectivity. Those who have the problem report that WiFi connectivity unexpectedly turns off as soon as the new Quick Share comes into play.
Not only is the device disconnected from the Wi-FI network but if you open the settings panel, the list of networks appears empty. By manually turning off WiFi and turning it back on, the list of networks reappears but the device does not reconnect as long as Quick Share remains open; by closing the latter the WiFi works again.

No comments at the moment from Google
Google has not yet made any statements. The AndroidAuthority site points out that both in the section dedicated to Pixels on the support portal and in the Bi G Issue Tracker there are discussions that report the problem; some users suggest uninstalling the Quick Share Extension to resolve the issue: you lose compatibility with AirDrop but you have the possibility of using QuickShare with the previous mode (not compatible with iPhones).
It is likely that it is some bug and the hope is that Google will solve the problem as soon as possible even if a Big G representative has reported the problem as “it will not be fixed (obsolete)” and therefore it is not certain that it will be solved. A real shame because it could have been an interesting function from an interoperability point of view.x
