A 20-year-old mainland man was charged with a fake public security certificate with his name and photo hidden in the dormitory of the City University. The case was first filed in the East District Magistrates Court on Friday (3rd).

The defendant does not need to defend himself for the time being. Magistrate Qu Liwen, upon the application of the prosecution, adjourned the report until November 28, waiting for the police to admit confession to the victim, conduct the admission procedures, etc. The defendant was denied the application for bail and must be remanded.

Crime: Fake Public Security Certificate with photo of the defendant’s name

The defendant Liang Guihe (20 years old), arrived in Hong Kong with a two-way certificate, was charged with one count of possession of false documents.

The charges alleged that the defendant knew or believed in a unit of Building 11, City University of Hong Kong, No. 22, Goh Hee Street, Cheung Sha, Hong Kong on October 1, 2025, and kept the document without legal authority or defense.

City University: No comment on events

Serious violations of discipline or expelled from school

City University replied to the Court Line on Friday, saying that the incident had entered the judicial process and the university did not make any comments.

Chengda University points out that universities support law-abiding and rules, have established procedures and guidelines to regulate students’ behavior and ethics. If any violations or illegal cases are found, they will be handed over to the relevant disciplinary committees on campus to follow up seriously according to the procedures. Serious violations are subject to chance to be expelled from school.
