BEAUMONT, Calif. (KABC) — Inland Empire residents experienced an extreme climate on Tuesday, with wind, rain and heat.
In Beaumont, the morning was calm, but the situation became chaotic with the formation of strong thunderstorms east. Although the heat wave will continue, the prognosis indicated mostly cloudy skies with thunderstorms in the morning.
“My God! It has been a mixture of wind, dust and a lot of land,” said Paisley Reading, resident of Banning. “The sky was simply brown. I was in Kansas years ago, so he reminded me of a tornado.”
A video shared with ABC7 from the Mission Grove area in Riverside showed fallen trees and patio umbrellas scattered on the sidewalk. The strong wind bursts lasted almost an hour.
For those who did not suffer damage, there is probable there is still much to clean.
“It was like a dust storm,” said Miguel Ruiz, resident of Banning. “It was crazy. We were in our truck on the highway, and the wind blew us towards the shore, so it was crazy.”
And of course, all rain, wind and cloudiness mean one thing – much lower temperatures, especially compared to Monday.
