The U.S. Department of State said in a statement that Landau and Macinka discussed “the common interests of the Czech and American people” that stem from a shared heritage. According to the US Department, they agreed that it was “important to use strong bilateral relations to promote growth in both countries while reducing unnecessary regulation”.
Landau Pak on the X network praised Macinka’s “reasonable approach to the problems facing both countries”. “The only way to get our economies moving at full speed (chairman of the Motorist Party) is to reduce bureaucratic obstacles,” Landau quoted Macinka as saying, explaining at the same time Macinka’s party affiliation.
Macinka was praised this week by US President Donald Trump for his clash with former US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton at the Munich Security Conference. According to the head of the White House, the head of Czech diplomacy did a “great job” in the panel debate. Trump wrote this in a post on the Truth Social social network, where he also posted a recording of the part of the debate where Macinka says he disagrees with what he called a gender revolution and climate alarmism. At the same time, Clinton jumps in to express her disapproval.
The Seznam Zprávy server reported that Macinka also met US President Donald Trump at the Peace Council. “I told him that my cell phone exploded at night, as everyone wrote to me. He was smiling about it,” the head of Czech diplomacy commented on the content of the conversation, pointing to Trump’s praise for the clash with former US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton at the Munich Security Conference.
According to the server, Macinka and Trump also discussed the Central European region at the meeting. “He spoke nicely about the Czech Republic. Of course, he mentioned that his first wife came from Czechoslovakia and gave him three wonderful children. He will certainly never forget this genetic information that she brought to his family,” said the chairman of the Motorists. The minister also indicated that the Czech Republic is being targeted by the highest levels of American politics. “Marco Rubio assured me that the Czech Republic and other countries of the Central European region are essential for them and that they definitely intend to focus some attention on them,” he said. He also said that he had invited Rubio to Prague and that his arrival was imminent.
The head of Czech diplomacy is visiting the USA until Tuesday, February 24. After the first meeting of Trump’s Peace Council and the meeting with Landau, according to of the Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs the program also includes meetings with representatives of the Heritage Foundation and Hudson Institute think tanks. On Tuesday, he will also attend an extraordinary session of the UN General Assembly to mark the fourth anniversary of the start of Russian aggression in Ukraine and deliver a speech there.
