Almería and Huesca tied this Saturday without goals in a clash of constant dominance by the locals, who did not, however, find precision against an organized rival, firm in their defensive block and comfortable in their conservative plan.
The story of the match reflected a beginning where Almería handled the ball in the rival field, chaining long possessions and constant approaches, while Huesca protected itself in a very disciplined low block. The first chances came with shots from Arribas and Lopy that forced Dani Giméne to intervene.
The development of the game showed how the Almería combinations grew in precision, highlighting a triangulation that left Embarba in front of the goalkeeper in an action that raised Almería’s offensive level. Puigmal repeated dangerous crosses that crossed the area without a shot, while the team maintained a constant circulation that subdued Huesca, unable to link long possessions.
The final stretch of the first half consolidated the idea of harassment without a knockdown, with a new appearance by Embarba who once again demanded a worthy intervention and a series of lateral centers that reinforced the feeling of red-and-white dominance. Huesca barely generated danger except in an isolated action by Kortajarena and another by Ojeda, while Almería continued to impose rhythm, breadth and presence.
The second half showed an insistent Almería in the rival field, with a start marked by Centelles‘ overhead kick and Arribas’ high shot, actions that gave way to a crossbar from Embarba after a deflection by Sielva. The goal disallowed against Centelles due to Chirino’s offside fueled the feeling of frustration.
Rubi’s changes sought to activate a stranded attack, but the passing of the minutes brought nerves, inaccuracies and a growing feeling of blockage. Almería accumulated blunt arrivals while Huesca breathed in each transition, resisting without getting disorganized.
The final chances once again revealed the red and white’s lack of success, with a weak header from Soko in the 78th minute, a faulty shot from Bonini in the 80th minute and a high shot from Perovic in the 85th minute, which did not deter a very confident Huesca in their retreat. The Huesca team, comfortable in its conservative plan, closed spaces until forcing Almería’s first 0-0 draw so far this season.
