San Juan Bautista Earthquake: Magnitude 4.3 – Bay Area News

Several earthquakes struck the southern Bay Area on Thursday, according to the United States Geological Survey.

The quake, whose magnitude was reduced from 4.3 to 4.0, occurred at 12:57 p.m., 3 miles south of San Juan Bautista in San Benito County.

At 12:48 a magnitude 3.9 earthquake occurred, while at 12:10 pm, there was a magnitude 2.7 earthquake.

Residents of Gilroy and Salinas claimed to have felt the tremor.
