Not a week goes by without Chinese e-commerce giants making headlines. Between the affair of child pornography dolls sold on Shein and a Greenpeace report highlighting the presence of dangerous chemical substances in certain clothing, controversies are increasing. Emblem of ultra excesses fast-fashionShein is now in the crosshairs of the European Union: Brussels accuses it of representing a “systemic risk” for consumers, while MEPs want to facilitate the suspension of certain sites.

In the space of a few years, the expansion of these platforms has become a major source of concern for the Swiss retail trade. According to Dagmar Jenni, director of the Swiss Retail Federation, “the influx of spending on these sites reaches around 1.5 billion francs this year.
