The Indonesian national team is gearing up for the drawing of Round 4 in the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers for the Asia Zone. The schedule, according to the AFC site, is set for July 17, 2025.

In this crucial fourth round, the Indonesian team is set to face formidable competition, potentially including teams from the Middle East.

Notably, the Indonesian national team stands out as the only non-Middle Eastern nation to have progressed to this advanced stage of the 2026 Asian zone World Cup qualifiers.

Other countries already confirmed for Round 4 include the United Arab emirates (Group A), Qatar (group A), Iraq (Group B), Oman (Group B), and Saudi Arabia (Group C). These teams secured their spots by finishing third and fourth in their respective groups during the third round of qualifiers.

Format of Round 4

The drawing for Round 4 of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers will divide six teams into two groups, each consisting of three teams.

Host Nation Bidding

While the AFC has yet to announce the host for Round 4, Saudi Arabia and Qatar are considered frontrunners. However, PSSI Chairperson Erick Thohir expressed Indonesia’s readiness to bid for the hosting rights on Friday (6/6/2025).
