After his operation, Tunay Deniz contacted the fans of TSV 1860 Munich via Instagram. His wife Kübra Deniz also shares touching words.
Munich – Despite the 3-0 home win against league leaders Cottbus, TSV 1860 Munich didn’t just have reason to celebrate last Saturday. The racism incident and a serious injury marred the joy. Tunay Deniz, a top performer for the Munich team, had to be treated on the field for several minutes; the lion’s engine is now certainly gone and will be missing for a long time.
1860 star Tunay Deniz reports from hospital after a serious knee injury
In the 62nd minute of the game, teammate Tunay Deniz went down against Cottbus, was treated on the field and replaced. The 31-year-old then had to go to the hospital. After the MRI examination, the fears were confirmed.
“Injuries happen in sport and are unfortunately part of it. My focus is on getting back on the pitch as quickly as possible after the operation and rehab,” said Deniz immediately afterwards. After his operation, Deniz has now turned to his fans again.
“The operation went well, thank you for your many messages and well wishes. That means an incredible amount to me,” wrote Deniz in his Instagram story about a photo from the hospital room, in which he gave both thumbs up. “Now it’s time to focus, work and come back stronger. Thanks to the club and the fans for their support. See you soon on the pitch!”
Kübra Deniz has almost twice as many followers as TSV 1860 Munich
Anyone who follows his wife Kübra Deniz already knew how Deniz was doing. The entrepreneur and psychologist shared a video on her Instagram account, which with 242,000 followers is almost twice as large as the official Instagram page of TSV 1860 Munich. In it, Kübra tells Deniz that she accompanied Tunay to the hospital at 5:30 a.m. She later shared a photo from the hospital with emotional words: “I’m so looking forward to when you’re just back home. We had the same photo 12 years ago, only we weren’t married back then.”
In addition to Deniz, Munich are missing four other players against Jahn Regensburg: Jesper Verlaat, Raphael Schifferl, Morris Schröter and Kilian Jakob. In the derby against Jahn-Regensburg, head coach Markus Kauczinski faces a big challenge. Deniz will keep his fingers crossed.
