Al-Marsad newspaper: A video clip documented the moment the poet Ziyad bin Nahit surprised a Lebanese resident in Riyadh, while he was sitting in a cafe, where he asked him a riddle in exchange for a financial prize.
During the dialogue, the Lebanese expressed his astonishment at Ben Nahit’s inability to distinguish his accent, saying to him: “How did you not know that I am Lebanese from my accent when you are a tall, broad journalist?”
$3000 prize
In turn, Bin Nahit responded defiantly: “If you answer the riddle, the prize will be $3,000 instead of riyals.”
Puzzle
The riddle was: “I ask you about something from the old man, who makes men feel a girl who embraces him, who worries about something that is feared by sultans, and what matters to people is what matters to him.”
After the Lebanese man was unable to solve the puzzle, Ben Nahit explained the answer to him, then bid him farewell and left.
Wide interaction and criticism
The video sparked widespread interaction among the tweeters, and one of them said: “The puzzle was not solved by Shaibani and I. How do you want the Lebanese to solve it?”
Another tweeter added: “Entering people, interrupting their meetings, and photographing them before asking their permission is something that I do not find justified or appropriate.”
Another commented: He deserves to come, leaving the Saudis who understand his dialect, and going to the young Lebanese man who does not understand the country’s dialect, while another asked: Does Ziyad bin Nahit have a permit from the Ministry of Information to hold a meeting with the public in public places?
