On Saturday, March 28, the exhibition opens its doors at the Botín Center Yuko Mohri: Entanglements, the most extensive solo exhibition of this Japanese artist in a European institution. Organized by the Botín Foundation and Pirelli HangarBicocca (Milan), the exhibition brings together kinetic sculptures composed of found objects and musical instruments modified and connected to electronic circuits.
Mohri’s works respond to imperceptible and ephemeral phenomena, such as gravity, magnetism, heat and humidity. Their assemblages are transformed by random and unstable environmental elements of the exhibition space—such as air, dust and temperature—giving rise to organic ecosystems in which the sound component is central.
