Supporting Youth Culture: A Night Out and Future Opportunities

The young generation in the SPÖ Vienna (JG Vienna), in collaboration with the “Juicy” collective and young trade unionists, are championing initiatives to enhance youth culture and opportunities within the city. As a symbolic gesture, they’ve organized a raffle for tickets to a popular club night at Praterdome on Easter Sunday, April 20, 2025.

Advocating for Accessible nightlife and Youth Spaces

Alexander Ackerl, chairman of JG Vienna, emphasized the importance of leisure activities for young people, stating, Going away, dancing, making friends: that is just as much part of a happy youth as good education or opportunities on the labor market. This sentiment underscores the Red Youth’s support for SPÖ’s plans to establish a central youth culture space and introduce a youth culture ticket, aiming to make city-promoted clubs more affordable for young adults. The goal is to ensure Vienna maintains a diverse and lively nightlife across all districts.

We are committed to ensuring that admission to clubs that are promoted by the city will be cheaper for young people and that Vienna will continue to offer a diverse and lively nightlife in the future – for all tastes and in every district.

Investing in Youth Employment and Vocational Training

Beyond nightlife, Farzin Weysi, chairman of the young trade unionists in SPÖ Vienna, stresses the importance of professional opportunities for young people. Vienna is actively creating pathways for youth employment through programs like ‘Jugend am Werk’ and inter-company apprenticeships. A notable investment is being made in the construction of a new vocational school in Seestadt Aspern, accommodating up to 7,500 students. These initiatives aim to combat youth unemployment by providing young people with valuable skills and prospects.

it is important to us to point out the many opportunities that the city of Vienna offers young people in order to start professionally. Vienna creates real opportunities with programs such as ‘Jugend am Werk’ or inter -company apprenticeships.
