Youngstown Boxing Champions Honored on Walk of Fame

The Youngstown boxing world champions were together for the first time to receive markers on Youngstown’s Walk of Fame at Wean Park.

“This is great not only for me but the other world champs,” said Kelly Pavlik,who held the WBC & WBO Middleweight Belt from 2007-2010.
‘The fans of Youngstown had a big part of my success,” Ray Mancini said. He held the WBA Lightweight Championship from 1982-1984.
“I’m just really excited that my legacy will be hear forever,” said Harry Arroyo, the IBF Lightweight Champion in 1984-1985.
Greg richardson,the WBC Bantamweight Champion in 1991,said it means a lot coming from a city that holds its own.
Jeff Lampkin, the IBF Cruiserweight Champ in 1990-1991, said it’s an honor to be recognized, adding that there’s going to be more boxing champions in the future.
