From 17 to 19 June, in Milan at Palazzo Mezzanotte, the event returns, promoted by the Permanent Youth-Editor Observatory. Over 360 European students will confront equal to par with six governors of European central banks, international CEO and protagonists of finance

They will not sit down. They will stay in the front row. The Central Bankers, CEOs, Presidents will look in the eyes. And they will ask questions. On duties, inflation, digital currency, inequalities. On Europe, future, possibility. Because “Young Factor”, more than an event, will be a reversal of the script. In fact, Milan, from 17 to 19 June, will become the beating heart of the economic-financial literacy in Europe. At Palazzo Mezzanotte, a symbolic headquarters of the stock exchange, 360 students from different Union countries will meet – from equal to par – the leaders of European finance. Not to receive lessons, but to embark on an authentic comparison.
Andrea Ceccherini, president of the Permanent Youth-Editori Observatory, creator of a project thatin ten school years, has gone to involve from 330,081 pupils of the first edition to 728,208 students of the latter. Gian Maria Gros-Pietro, president of Intesa Sanpaolo, and Jean-Claude Trichet, already driving the European Central Bank, will alternate on stage, which will talk about the current geopolitical framework, touching crucial themes such as duties and computer threats. Claudia Parzani, president of Borsa Italiana, and Antonio Patuelli, president of the Italian banking association, will bring the greeting of the Italian financial institutions.

The round table with governors

Then, the word will pass to Mario Cenno, governor of the Central Bank of Portugal, who will open the dialogue with students on inflation and commercial policies. The second day will be marked by different and complementary items. Daniela Fatarella, CEO of Save the Children Italy, will talk about inequalities and access to opportunities. José Luis Escrivá, a new governor of the Spanish central bank, will reflect on the impacts of the digital revolution. François Villeroy de Galhau, from the Banque de France, will bring a profound reflection on European identity and its meaning for the new generations. Klaas Knot, from the Dutch central bank, will face the state of globalization and the need for new rules of trade. Fabio Panetta, as governor of the Bank of Italy, will intervene on the evolution of the coin in digital times. Carlo Messina, CEO of Intesa Sanpaolo partner of the project, will also dialogue directly with the boys, who will tell how we can return to grow in a context marked by uncertainties. To conclude the day, a round table with the six governors of the central banks: Cenno, Knot, Escrivá, Nagel, Panetta and Villeroy de Galhau. Six visions, a single theme: the common challenges of the European Union.

The conclusion

The third day will open with Sergio Ermotti, CEO of Ubs Group, who will talk about pillars to build an international career. Andrea Orcel, number one of Unicredit, will follow him with an intervention on how to form and attract talents. Joachim Nagel, governor of Deutsche Bundesbank, will face the theme of monetary policy in the era of uncertainty. To close the works will be Luis De Guindos, vice -president of the ECB, who will offer a reflection on the economic prospects of the Eurozone.

The future

Andrea Ceccherinifor years to work to give Italian students tools and increase their critical thinking, he says it clearly: «The economy is the most spoken language in the world. Financial education is grammar to not be excluded. “ But Young Factor goes further: he doesn’t just teach to understand. He invites young people to think, speak, confront each other. And those who have power, for once, to listen: all on the same floors boys and giants of finance because they believe that knowledge is never vertical, but horizontal. This is the real change of pace. No longer young “to be involved”. But the young people “with whom you start again”. So here is Milan that for three days it will not only be the financial capital of Italy, but a European listening and participation laboratory. A classroom open on tomorrow. Also international
