Yellow Weather Alert: 20 Counties Affected – MAP Included

The National Meteorological Administration has issued a new yellow code warning of wind intensifications, until Monday morning, in Banat, southern Crișana and the Southern Carpathians. Also, a yellow precipitation code was issued, from Monday to Tuesday, in several counties of Banat, Oltenia and Muntenia.

Meteorologists have issued a yellow code for wind intensification in Banat, the south of Crișana and in the Southern Carpathians, where the wind will blow at speeds between 50-70 km/h. Gusts will exceed 90-100 km/h at altitudes above 1,700 meters. The warning is valid from January 25 at 2:00 p.m. to January 26 at 8:00 a.m.

Also, a yellow code was issued for quantitatively significant precipitation in the form of rain in the north of Oltenia and Muntenia. In the area of ​​the Southern, Western and Karbură Carpathians, mixed precipitation is expected, favoring the melting of the snow layer. Meteorologists announce that 20-35 l/m2 will accumulate and locally over 40 l/m2.

“At altitudes generally above 1,700 meters, it will snow and a layer of snow of 20-30 centimeters will be deposited, and the wind will intensify with speeds of 70-90 km/h, temporarily blowing the snow and causing the visibility to drop below 100 meters”, say the meteorologists.

Forecast for Bucharest

The meteorologists issued the forecast for Bucharest as well, where the temperatures will reach 6 degrees Celsius on Sunday, while the minimum temperature will be 0 degrees.

“Thermal values ​​will be above those specific for the date. The sky will be temporarily cloudy during the day, but the night will be cloudy and towards the end of the interval it will rain lightly. The wind will blow weak and moderate. The maximum temperature will be around 6 degrees, and the minimum will be 0…2 degrees. In the first part of the night there will be

foggy conditions”, say meteorologists.

From Monday 08:00 until Tuesday 08:00, temperatures will rise to 12 degrees, the sky will be cloudy and it will rain moderately.

“Thermal values ​​will increase and will be well above those specific to the period. The sky will be cloudy and it will rain moderately quantitatively (10…20 l/m2), and the wind will blow moderately (speeds of 35…40 km/h). The maximum temperature will be 11-12 degrees, and the minimum 3-4 degrees”, says ANM.

At the same time, meteorologists announce that Bucharest will not be subject to a general meteorological message, between January 25-27.
