After his move to Valencia, things have become quiet around Filip Ugrinic. The Swiss has not yet been able to assert himself in Spain – apparently also due to persistent knee problems. That’s why Spanish journalists are now accusing the Young Boys.
Valencia paid 4 million euros for Filip Ugrinic. The 26-year-old was the most expensive summer transfer from the proud, traditional club from southern Spain. However, Ugrinic has not yet been able to meet the high expectations.
The midfielder has only played four times, he hasn’t been in the starting line-up once – and Ugrinic was missing from the squad in the last four competitive games.
Apparently knee problems are currently preventing him from playing. An injury to the quadriceps is troubling the man from Lucerne, media from Valencia report. In the “Norantaminuts” podcast, serious allegations are even made against the Young Boys.
“Very strange”
Spanish journalist Salva Folgado says Ugrinic has had the problems for a long time and that YB and the player kept the injury quiet from Valencia during the transfer.
The Spaniards also made no findings during the medical check. “They didn’t examine his knee thoroughly,” Folgado says. “Everything that happened in the Ugrinic case is very strange,” says journalist Vicente Fuster in the podcast.
At least the four-time national team player is now back in training. A game on Sunday against Real Betis (6:30 p.m. live on blue Sport) probably comes too early. Valencia have been waiting for a win since September 20th and are currently in a relegation zone.
