This Friday, December 5, the actions in the 2025-2026 season of the ARCO Mexican Pacific League continued with the presence of five Cuban players. Yasmany Tomás with a home run and Orlando Martínez with a couple of RBIs were the most notable.
The Cañeros de Los Mochis beat the Tucson Baseball Team at their home, the Emilio Ibarra Almada Stadium, by a score of seven runs to two. Yasmany Tomás and Leonys Martín towed four of the seven runs of the Nave Verde.
Yasmany Tomás from the capital hit his fifth homer of the season and led the Cañeros to victory. “El Tanque” went 4-1 in the challenge with the aforementioned home run, a run scored and another three RBIs. For his part, Leonys Martín had a couple of singles in five at-bats, two scored, one RBI and his average is .272.
Tomás’ offensive average for the season is only .221, however he has 22 RBIs, only surpassed overall by his countryman Martín; As in home runs, Leonys has nine (leader).
Tomás has four consecutive campaigns in the Mexican winter circuit, all with Los Mochis, and in each of the previous three he has exceeded 10 home runs, his top one was in 2024-2025 with 13.
Orlando Martínez drives in two
The Tomateros of Culiacán defeated the Yaquis of Ciudad Obregón on a visit by a score of five scores to three. Julio Pablo Martínez from Guantanamo, Orlando Martínez from Havana and Diosbel Arias from Artemis participated in the clash; all for the Guinda group.
