Xiaomi SU7: Updates & Improvements – 2024

Star of the sector, the Xiaomi SU7 does not wait to be surpassed to improve. The manufacturer has just opened orders for the 2026 version of the electric sedan, which will be launched in Europe in 2027.

Having quickly become the best-selling car in its category in China naturally makes the Xiaomi SU7 a prime target for the competition. The manufacturer is therefore preparing an evolution of its electric sedan, which will be put on the market in April. That is two years after its initial launch.

It is clearly not in terms of style that we should look for changes, even if the Chinese media mention an improvement in aerodynamics. Progress can be found in the area of ​​electric propulsion.

All versions now switch to an 800 volt architecture (the basic model was until now satisfied with 400 volts). The new batteries, yet to be specified, belong to the latest generation of Qilin batteries from CATL with better energy density and 5C charging. We can thus expect a charge of 20 to 80% in approximately 10 minutes.

The capacities are still unknown, but the ranges have already been revealed by the ministry: 902 km for the long-range propulsion model. In the CLTC cycle, or a little over 700 km in the WLTP cycle.

In addition to an improvement in standard equipment, including Lidar fitted as standard on all versions, the SU7 logically takes over the anchoring points for powered accessories that appeared on the YU7.
