Microsoft has announced on its official blog the launch in testing phase of the postgame recapsa new feature in the Xbox app for PC that generates an automatic summary when finishing a game session. The novelty is available from today to participants of the Xbox Insider program in the PC Gaming Preview category.
The summary may include screenshots taken during gameplay via the Game Bar, unlocked achievements, and relevant in-game events. It also offers the ability to leave feedback to help improve the feature. Microsoft clarifies that will not appear after each sessionbut only when there is something notable to show, such as a capture or an achievement obtained.
From Xbox they ensure that the user decides what summaries they want to receive
The first time you play a title, and occasionally afterward, a short survey may also appear along with recommendations for other games. All of this is configurable from the app settings, in the section Postgame recapswhere you can activate or deactivate the different summary types separately.

So that the feature can display the summary when you exit the game, the Xbox app can be left running in the system tray while playing. Microsoft indicates that it has optimized this behavior to reduce the impact on memory and performance. If the user disables all summary types, the app will stop starting in the background when launching a game. For now, the feature is limited to the testing program and Microsoft is asking participants to share their feedback through the Xbox Insider subreddit.
