WWE Makes Shocking Talent Cuts: Karl Anderson, Luke Gallows, and Giovanni Vinci Let Go

In a surprising move, World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) recently released Karl Anderson, Luke Gallows, and Giovanni Vinci from their roster. These former stars, known for their high-energy matches and compelling storylines, have decided to hang up their wrestling boots for now.

Karl Anderson’s Prolonged Injury

Karl Anderson, part of the iconicGood Brothers team, is out indefinitely due to a torn labrum and rotator cuff injuries. In November, he underwent surgery, and initial estimates were that he would be sidelined for at least six to seven months. However, more recent updates suggest a recovery period ranging from three to six months at minimum. Despite the unusual step of releasing an injured performer, WWE maintains that Anderson is in good spirits.

Luke Gallows and Giovanni Vinci’s Recent Activities

Luke Gallows and Giovanni Vinci had not stepped into the ring for any WWE events in 2025. Their last public appearance was an untelevised match in December 2024, where they faced each other on WWE SmackDown. The duo returned to WWE in 2022 following Vince McMahon’s ouster from his creative role, but their first stint had concluded in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Giovanni Vinci’s Diverse Career

Originally known as Fabian Aicher, Giovanni Vinci joined WWE in 2017 after winning the 2016 Cruiserweight Classic tournament. His early career highlights include being part of the NXT roster and becoming a member of Imperium, a stable on NXT UK, where he and formerly known as Marcel Barthel (now Ludwig Kaiser) won the NXT Tag Team Championship.

In 2022, as part of Imperium, Vinci made his WWE debut and remained under his new name. However, his narrative took a dramatic turn when he was abruptly dismissed from Imperium in 2024. A brief attempt to reboot his character didn’t last long, with his return to singles competition resulting in quick losses. Sources suggest that his character was pushed down the card knowing he wouldn’t be brought back.

The Future of these VeteransThe release of these long-standing WWE alumni marks a significant shift in the company’s roster strategy as the company continues to navigate new creative directions under Paul “Triple H” Levesque’s leadership. Their future in professional wrestling remains uncertain, but fans will certainly miss their high-energy performances and compelling storylines.
