Worldtempus Webcomic: An Icon’s Story

by drbyos

The challenge posed to De Trey, to imagine a watch capable of withstanding a Polo match, would become the genesis of the Reverso, the Art Deco icon we know today. A watch designed to protect itself by rotating.

Nearly a century later, this story is reborn in a new form. Jaeger-LeCoultre entrusted Olivecoat with the task of transcribing it into a vertical digital story. Jaeger-LeCoultre then included the Reverso as an extension of its Made of Makers™ program, an initiative which invites artists from creative worlds far removed from watchmaking to revisit the fundamentals of the House. The objective: to show that watchmaking know-how naturally dialogues with contemporary creation, and that the classics only survive by continuing to inspire.

Son webcomic Reversepublished in October 2025, reinvents the origin of the watch with delicacy and a contemporary outlook, allowing a new generation to discover this icon not through an archive text, but through a visual and immersive narration.
