Protestors Criticize Democratic Leaders at D.C. Trans Rights Rally

Demonstrators voiced concerns about the Democratic Party’s commitment to transgender rights at a rally in washington.
Speeches at a recent rally in Washington, D.C., took aim not only at the Trump administration and the Republican party, but also at Democratic politicians.
Speakers argued that some Democratic leaders have faltered in thier support for the trans community amidst Republican control of the White House and both houses of Congress.
“We have to call out people who have abandoned our movement,” said TYLER HACK of the christopher Street Project.
HACK added, “Being a Democrat is more than carrying the party affiliation.
It’s about unapologetic support for the trans community.”
Marchers Head to Capitol, White House
While the main march proceeded toward the U.S. Capitol, a smaller group broke away and marched toward the White House, displaying a large “TRUMP MUST GO NOW” banner.
“People are still out here, despite the rain, despite their exhaustion. We’re not going anywhere.”
Those who remained despite the inclement weather emphasized the importance of their presence.
