World City Press expanded California consumer banking coverage with two new story spotlights.
The two reports focus on branch access and community funding.
BMO branch optimization puts branch access in focus
California consumer banking coverage now includes a spotlight on BMO branch optimization.
BMO said it will sell 138 U.S. branches to First Citizens Bank & Trust Company.
BMO also said it plans to open 150 new branches over five years and framed the plan as California-centric.
BMO told customers to keep using existing checks, cards, branches, and online access until closing.
Sierra Grant milestone tracks local funding
California consumer banking coverage also includes a spotlight on Bank of the Sierra’s Sierra Grant milestone.
The bank said its Sierra Grant Program passed $5 million in donations since 2004 and delivered more than 1,900 grants since inception.
It reported $315,000 in donations during the second and third quarters of 2025, with a regional breakdown.

More follow-ups planned
World City Press said California consumer banking coverage will continue.
Planned follow-ups include branch access, customer transitions, bank footprints, fraud awareness, mergers, and community programs.
