The Office of the Women’s Prosecutor of the Legislative Assembly of Paraná closed the year 2025 with expanded services, a strengthened protection network and international recognition of the work carried out in the State. Between January and December, over 2,260 services were registered, including direct support for women served (96), orientation for parliamentarians and staff (103), in-person services (105) and actions to prevent and combat gender-based violence (7).

In addition to direct assistance, 58 new offices of women’s lawyers were established in municipal offices, bringing the total number of municipal structures dedicated to supporting and promoting women’s rights in Paraná to 224. “It has been a wonderful year. We now have 224 offices of women’s lawyers. When we arrived, there were 113. We also traveled to Argentina and Porto Alegre, as well as organizing courses and events,” said women’s lawyer, MP Cloara Pinheiro (PSD).

The year was also characterized by international recognition and participation in events. The team attended meetings in Catamarca, Argentina, and Porto Alegre, where they presented Paraná’s service model to delegations from Argentina, France and the United States. In March 2026, the Prosecutor’s Office, together with the Women’s Leadership of the Legislative Assembly, will participate in debates at the United Nations (UN) in New York, bringing its methodology of welcoming, preventing abuse and strengthening women’s autonomy to the global stage. “We went to Argentina and Porto Alegre to give conferences about our Prosecutor’s Office to Argentines, French and Americans. This makes me very happy because in March we will also go to the United Nations to talk about the Prosecutor’s Office, together with Representative Mabel Canto. The Prosecutor’s Office has made a difference and continues to do so,” he commented.

Mental health and caring for those who care for us.

Among the programs highlighted by the Prosecutor’s Office is “Caring for Those Who Care”, an initiative aimed at supporting mothers and fathers with atypical children, which will see a new edition in April 2026. Another objective was to promote the economic independence of women seeking to break the cycle of violence. In collaboration with the state government and commercial institutions, 220 places were made available for professional training courses, reinforcing the importance of financial autonomy as a protection tool. “These are places in vocational training courses that help a person, if he wishes, to free himself from this cycle of violence and find employment,” the Prosecutor’s Office said.

reception

For her, the year was “a gift from God”, marked by the direct impact on the lives of the women assisted. Even with a small team, the welcoming atmosphere was the central element to guarantee effective results. “We have 224 prosecutors and only two people working with me, plus two welcoming staff members. The most important thing was to listen. To look them in the eye and say: you can do it, you can do it, you are complete,” she said.

The prosecutor also commented on her work in the mental health field and how personal stories of overcoming adversity have helped her connect with the women she has counseled. “I didn’t want to have the story I have, but I use this experience to show that it is possible to change things,” he commented. For her, the defining word of the year is acceptance. “I have already tattooed ‘gratitude’, but now I want to tattoo ‘acceptance’. This is the word that has made the difference in my life and in my work at the prosecutor’s office,” he concluded.
