Microsoft recently made itself an object of ridicule by “solving” the slow startup of the factory File Manager application by automatically launching it in the background when Windows 11 is started. This change arrived on computers as part of the December Bug Fix Tuesday updates, and now the company has come up with another brilliant idea: with the January Bug Fix Tuesday update, you can switch one of the background services of Windows 11 to start automatically.

The component in question is called AppX Deployment Service, and it installs and updates apps from the Microsoft Store. The system service is currently configured to start only when it is actually needed.
Unfortunately, it works unreliably in certain circumstances, to which Microsoft’s response is to change it to start automatically when Windows loads, instead of fixing it.
There may be trouble from another Windows hack
In theory, this would not be the end of the world, however, you can find a lot of complaints on the Internet that the service in question sometimes goes wild due to some bug, causing huge processor, memory, and storage usage, thus dramatically slowing down the operation of the PC.
After the current modification, the buggy service will run continuously, which enormously increases the chance of the occurrence of errors associated with slowing down the computer.
It is not yet clear whether the service can be manually reset to start on demand, but it would not be surprising. However, even if this option is given, it will not help the average computer user, since the majority will not even be able to determine what caused their computer to slow down. You can only hope that restarting Windows will solve the problem.
