The Wilmington Police Department (WPD) is currently investigating a suspicious death following a call on East Lake Shore Drive.

According to reports, officers arrived at the scene shortly after 10 p.m. on June 28, responding to initial reports of an injured person.

Upon arrival, police discovered a deceased man, according to a WPD press release. the identity of the man and the cause of death are currently being withheld as the investigation is ongoing.

“This incident is currently being investigated as a suspicious death by the WPD Criminal Investigation division. Anyone with details is asked to please call the WPD at (910) 343-3600 or use the anonymous Tip 411 app,” the WPD stated.
