Willie Salim Giveaway Settings: Clarification & Details

KOMPAS.com – Content creator Willie Salim‘s giveaway content is in the public spotlight after a man named Risky admitted that he was directly involved as a talent in one of the videos.

Risky’s confession raised suspicions that the giveaway content displayed was not completely spontaneous, but had been pre-arranged.

“In my opinion, it was a setup, because initially we had an agreement with him. My (agreement) was with the people who work at Willie,” said Risky in Denny Sumargo’s YouTube video, quoted on Sunday (25/1/2026).

Risky revealed that he was contacted by Willie Salim’s assistant and offered to be involved in creating content.

In the video, he is asked to act as an online motorcycle taxi driver who is waiting for an order, then meets Willie Salim as if by chance.

“At first he said, ‘Sir, find me a banana and a tree, if possible, I’ll give you two million,'” said Risky.

He then looked for banana trees around the location with the help of the production team. In fact, according to his confession, the team was said to have previously coordinated with the plantation owner for the purpose of retrieving the content property.

“The way you sit on a motorbike is still, Sis Willie approaches you. It’s as if you’re pulling along with Willie. It’s as if you met suddenly,” he said.

In the video flow, Risky is seen bringing a banana tree to Willie Salim’s house and receiving IDR 2 million in front of the camera. However, Risky claims that the money must be returned after the shooting process is complete.

“I was given the money, I accepted it. When I shook hands I was told to say don’t forget to follow Willie Salim’s IG,” he said.

Willie Salim Speaks Out

Responding to this issue, Willie Salim finally provided clarification via an Instagram Story upload on Sunday (25/1/2026). He emphasized that he had no intention to deceive or harm anyone through his content.

“I rarely respond to issues, but because this has become public consumption, I feel the need to straighten out a few things with a cool head,” wrote Willie.

Willie explained, in the world of digital content, the concepts of storytelling, dramatization and re-enactment are known as entertainment formats.

“It is an entertainment format to convey a story, not an intention to deceive or harm anyone,” he said.

He also emphasized that he never intended to lie to the public regarding the prizes given.
