William Proos to Almtuna: Linköping Discount Deal

by Archynetys Sports Desk

The other day Expressen was able to reveal that Linköping made a huge mistake and forgot to register William Proos in time.

Now it is clear that the club will not receive an exemption and that the forward will remain in Almtuna.

– You open a fucking faucet if you are going to approve something like this, says Nicklas Danielsson to Expressen.

Linköping HC får inget Gehör hos Svenska Ishockeyförbundet.

The dispensation application that the club sent in to try to resolve the situation around William Proos has been rejected – and thus the forward will remain in Almtuna for the rest of the season.

– That’s right. He will remain with us and there will be no Linköping, confirms Almtuna’s sporting director Nicklas Danielsson to Expressen.

LHC’s plan was to call home Proos to broaden the squad after the injury to Remi Elie and after Oliver Johansson left for AIK. The club also announced on its website that he would stay for the rest of the season. But no transfer request was ever submitted before the deadline, which meant that he was still registered with the hockey Allsvenskan club.

“We had counted him out”

However, Linköping’s assistant sports director had hopes that it would be resolved on Monday.

– I have good communication with Nicklas Danielsson so there are no strange things, said LHC’s assistant sports director Jonas Junland to Expressen.

But it won’t be like that.

– We had counted William out. I have tried to help Linköping as best I can, since they missed an administrative part in the form of a transfer is of course regrettable, says Danielsson, who, however, understands that the association says no:

– You open a damn faucet if you are going to approve something like this. Then you wouldn’t have had to have a deadline for the window, so I understand that it was a no. It’s sad for Linköping, but good for us in Almtuna.

The rejection means that Linköping is now forced to end the season without Proos, as they had expected, while the forward lineup is already thin. For Almtuna, however, it will be a form of happy news.

– It doesn’t change that much for us, more than that we benefit from another good player before the final sprint. It’s good for us, says Danielsson.

Expressen has searched for the chairman of the competition committee, Jonas Sandberg, without success.
