In a critically important move, will Still, aged 32, has been officially named as the new manager, setting a fresh course for the team.

The appointment follows the departure of Ivan Juric, who exited in April after the club’s relegation from the Premier league was confirmed with seven matches remaining.

Still had previously announced his departure from Ligue 1 side Lens to facilitate his return to the UK.

Still Eager to Start

“There is huge potential here and we have a great opportunity to do something special,” said Still, who has committed to a three-year contract.

He added, “The project that has been laid out to me is very notable and, all together, I believe we can build a clear identity and a very positive future for the team.”

Still expressed his enthusiasm: “I’m eager to get to work this summer and start building a close-knit group that can make everyone proud and ultimately get us back to where we belong; in the Premier League.”

Club’s Outlook

Group technical director Johannes Spors commented: “Will is a young, innovative manager who has already gained significant experience, and we have been extremely impressed both by his track record and our conversations with him.”

Spors further noted, “What was very apparent in our discussions was the clarity of his beliefs and the identity he wants his teams to have, but also his willingness and ability to adapt to different situations as thay present themselves, which will be an crucial quality in the Championship next season.”

He concluded, “We were very impressed by his personality and his values, and we feel he will be an excellent fit for the culture we are looking to build at Staplewood.”

Lens acknowledged the Englishman’s “investment” during his tenure, stating that he “embodied the values of RCL through his resilience and his passionate and authentic personality”.

The French club also verified that Still’s brothers, Edward and Nicolas, would be leaving the club as well, even though it remains unconfirmed whether they will join him.
