“For all the people who are no longer happy because of all the misery: it will be okay”
In their message they wish everyone happy holidays and a beautiful and healthy 2026. They also explicitly target people who are currently having a hard time. “For all the people who are feeling down because of all the misery: it will turn out fine, even if you can’t see it now,” it sounds encouraging. ‘Everything will get better, give it time and space.’
The past year had both highs and lows for the family. One of the biggest bright spots was the arrival of Billie Jean. In addition, the boys made a big step by going to secondary education, something of which the parents are visibly proud. The summer was also thoroughly enjoyed, with relaxing moments in the swimming pool in Limburg and simply at home in the garden.
At the same time there was also sadness. The family had to say goodbye to Lilly, the ninth child in the family. Lily was born in November with serious complications. “Lily has no nose, an open palate and lip, probably a split skull, poorly or barely developed brain and a lot of fluid in her head,” mother Priscilla previously wrote about this. ‘Her heart is on the wrong side and her organs are growing outside her abdomen. Unfortunately not compatible with life.’
Although that loss was difficult, they write that they have now received confirmation that it was ‘the best decision’, which gives them peace.
The message concludes with a clear life lesson: don’t get stuck in the negative, but let the positive dominate. “That’s something you can do,” the family said.
They look ahead with confidence for 2026, with plans to enjoy the children and everything around them: ‘The children, the outings, the birthdays and just the simple things are often the most beautiful and fun.’
In the video below, Priscilla talks about the difficult moments of this year.
