Details of the Abuse Unveiled

The incidents, which occurred between 2022 and January 2024, even after the couple’s separation, involved a range of physical and psychological violence. Reports detail instances of sexist insults, slaps, hair-pulling, and choking. One especially disturbing allegation describes the man forcing his ex-wife into a dog kennel, demanding she behave like an animal, following a violent argument.

Reactions to the Sentence: Is Justice Served?

While the conviction is a step forward, some feel the sentence doesn’t adequately reflect the severity of the abuse.claudia Bini, a lawyer with the Woman Call Association, expressed concern over the leniency of the punishment.

We are close to the woman who has operated the criminal procedure, we still see the limits of the general system…The days of work will be 212, which are many, but it is useless to continue creating crimes and raise the penalties if they are then commuted to hours of socially useful jobs, especially in cases such as these in which it is unlikely that it is enough for a criminal conviction to stop the violence, there are paths to be done in addition to the sentence. Well the ban but 500 meters are not enough, they would serve 500 km, and sometiems they would not be enough
Claudia Bini, Woman Call Association

Bini suggests that community service may not be sufficient to address the root causes of such violent behavior. She also questioned the effectiveness of a 500-meter restraining order, implying a greater distance is needed to ensure the victim’s safety.
