As Origo also reported, the whole country was hit by the news that only Péter Kálloy Molnár died at the age of 55. The excellent actor was battling pancreatic cancer: he was diagnosed with the serious disease this spring. Although Péter Kálloy Molnár fought with all his strength, the disease eventually defeated him, he writes the Pepper.
His widow, Ágnes Lestár, recently spoke to a Hungarian newspaper about how they experienced the devastating diagnosis. According to her, the disease caught them completely unexpectedly, but at the same time, she believed that her husband – who had previously survived a heart attack – would win this battle as well.
The actor received the news with extraordinary mental strength, he did not collapse, but a strong survival instinct was immediately activated in him and he did everything he could to recover.
The family kept the news of the illness to the smallest possible circle, very few people knew that Péter Kálloy Molnár was fighting cancer. In the last period, the actor was in the hospital, but even then they hoped that he would be able to return home.
On the morning of December 1st, Ágnes Lestár and their children, Pisti and Szofi, went to see him in the belief that they would soon go home together. However, the doctors then informed them that it was time to say goodbye.
According to his widow, it was at this moment that she really understood that she had to let her husband go.
He feels that letting him go was the greatest act of love he could have given her, even if it involved extreme pain.
The grieving widow is currently trying to draw strength from shared memories, while living everyday in close unity with her children. Family and friends stand by her in everything, for which she is extremely grateful.

On December 19, they said their final goodbyes to the exceptionally talented artist amid poignant moments. at the funeral of Péter Kálloy Molnár his widow Ágnes Lestár said goodbye with a trembling voice from her husband who died of a serious illness.

The actor’s mother-in-law, Szilvia Dallos said in shock:
We held his hand until the last minute. He was not prepared to leave… Péter was loved by everyone, he was an excellent artist.
