by Archynetys News Desk

As the 2026 Sundance Film Festival cruises into its third day, the lineup is shifting from grounded dramas to the surreal, the satiric, and the supernatural. From the high-fashion galleries of Miami to a medieval village in search of true romance.

Leading the daytime today is Wickerthe audacious follow-up from Save Yourselves! directors Eleanor Wilson and Alex Huston Fischer. This eccentric historical comedy stars Olivia Colman as a sardonic fisherwoman in a medieval village who defies tradition by commissioning a husband to be woven for her. Alexander Skarsgård co-stars as the enigmatic wicker man in a film that explores the trappings of marriage and societal norms.

Following the eccentricities of the past, Edward Norton, Olivia Wilde, and Seth Rogen attended the The Invite premiere, and later, director Cathy Yan brings viewers into the ruthless modern world with The Gallerist. The star-studded cast includes Jenna Ortega, Charli xcx,  Zach Galifianakis as a cynical art influencer, Da’Vine Joy Randolph as an emerging artist, offering a robust survey of high-society desperation.

Later this evening, the festival turned toward the visceral with the world premiere of undertone. The debut feature from writer-director Ian Tuason stars Nina Kiri as Evy, a paranormal podcast host whose skepticism is shattered by a series of terrifying audio recordings.
