TATRY – American actor and director Ben Stiller toured possible film locations in the High Tatras. TASR was informed about this by the spokesperson of Tatry Mountain Resorts (TMR), Marián Galajda. According to him, the tour was part of the preparations for the shooting of a new film, which is tentatively planned for 2027.
During his visit, Stiller was accommodated in one of the hotels in Štrbské Pleso. He visited the surroundings of the Silesian House, walked around Popradské pleso and took the cable car to a height of 1751 meters to see the views from Skalnaté pleso.
“The American production company behind the upcoming film has confirmed that the High Tatras are currently among the potential candidates for filming. According to them, director Stiller’s positive impressions from the Tatra tour increased the region’s chances.” stated Galajda.
TMR declared that if the filmmakers finally decide on Slovakia, the filming will take place in close cooperation with it, while it is ready to provide the film crew with a complex background, support and necessary logistics directly in the field and during the filming itself, just like during the tours.
