Whoop Tracker Issues: Quality Complaints & Reports

Whoop 5.0 MG Faces Early reliability Concerns

Reports are surfacing about the latest Whoop smart bracelet experiencing sensor failures shortly after purchase, despite promised improvements.

The Whoop 5.0 MG, the newest iteration of the fitness tracker known for its comprehensive health data collection, is facing scrutiny due to reports of malfunctions. While the company touted enhanced sensor technology and energy efficiency, some users are claiming that their devices are failing after only a short time in use.

The Whoop series aims to provide insights into users’ health and promote long-term wellness. The new Whoop 5.0 and whoop 5.0 MG models boasted a 60% performance increase and a tenfold improvement in energy efficiency.

However, shortly after the launch, users took to Reddit, X, and the company’s official forum to report sensor failures occurring soon after receiving their devices.

Early Failures Plague New Devices

Users are reporting similar issues: the Whoop 5.0 MG, which includes medical sensors capable of detecting cardiac arrhythmia and measuring ECG data and blood pressure, abruptly ceases to function. The device’s LEDs go dark, and neither re-pairing with the app nor fully recharging resolves the problem. Some users have stated their devices stopped working after as little as 30 minutes.

These malfunctions are notably frustrating for users who rely on the wristbands to achieve personal health and fitness goals. The Whoop 5.0 MG is exclusively available with the most expensive “Life” subscription, which costs €399 per year and is designed for long-term medical monitoring.

The LEDs remain dark, and neither re-pairing with the app nor fully recharging resolves the problem.

Company Acknowledges “Isolated Cases”

The company has responded to the complaints, stating that they are aware of “isolated cases.” however, they have not provided specific details regarding the nature of the defects. the volume of user complaints suggests a potentially widespread issue.

The company says it is indeed working to replace defective devices promptly. If a replacement cannot be provided within 24 hours, the company says it will waive fees for the period of downtime.
