While on the one hand Meta is increasingly networking its various social media channels with each other, on the other hand it occasionally transfers functions from one platform to the other. This will probably be the case again soon with the messenger with the green and white symbol, as planned WhatsApp-Update revealed.
WhatsApp update: reaction stickers for status messages
As WABetaInfo reports, WhatsApp is currently developing a new function with which reaction stickers can be integrated into status messages. The usually well-informed expert portal discovered evidence of this in the current Android beta version 2.25.30.2, which is available in the Google Play Store. The feature is expected as part of a future WhatsApp update, although the exact release date is not yet known.
The function in question originally comes from Instagram, where it has been possible for some time to react to other people’s stories with stickers. It is not uncommon for Messenger to borrow something from one of the most popular social media platforms: just a few weeks ago it was announced that an upcoming WhatsApp update would introduce status messages for close friends, something Instagram has been offering for a long time.

Expanded possibilities for interaction
Specifically, when creating a status message, users will in future be presented with an additional option that allows them to insert a reaction sticker into their respective picture or video before sharing the status with their contacts. They have a free choice from WhatsApp’s complete emoji set and can therefore individually determine which emotional state suits their post, which makes the latter even more personal.
Contacts who see the status message can tap the sticker and participate in it. As a result, the author receives a notification about who reacted to the post. If there are several posts, you will be informed exactly which of them received a reaction. In summary, the future WhatsApp update is intended to simplify the interaction between users and their contacts by enabling fast, wordless communication.
