JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto said the government would implement work anywhere or work form anywhere (WFA) in the upcoming Eid al-Fitr holiday period.
Later, the WFA during the Eid holiday will be implemented on March 16 and 17 2026, as well as March 25, 26, 27 2026.
“We will also give work from anywhereso that the gaps approaching the Eid holiday can be filled by work from anywhere,” said Airlangga at the Financial Services Industry Annual Meeting at the Bidakara Hotel, Jakarta, Thursday (5/2/2026).
The government will also provide stimulus to encourage people’s mobility during the holiday period, especially during the Eid homecoming period. The stimulus is in the form of a discount on public transportation fares.

Discounts on train and ship tickets
For train transportation modes, a 30 percent discount on ticket rates is given. Likewise, ferry transportation modes are given a 30 percent discount on rates.
Meanwhile, for airplane transportation modes, price discounts ranging from 17 percent to 18 percent are given.
“So for those who want to plan a holiday, please give a 30 percent discount on train tickets. Then we will give 30 percent on ships, and around 17 (percent) -18 percent on planes,” he said.
He also hopes that this stimulus can encourage economic movement in line with the high mobility of society.
“Indonesia is indeed an anomaly, during holidays there is high mobility. During high mobility, spending is high and the economy is moving. The consumer confidence index rises, electronic sales rise,” concluded Airlangga.
