The Iowa Events center is preparing for the official July 1st name change.
Preparations are underway at Wells Fargo Arena as it transitions to Casey’s Center on July 1, according to officials from the Iowa Events Center.
Crews are scheduled to start removing the Wells Fargo signage from the exterior of the building on Monday, June 9, according to a press release.
The renaming of the 17,000-seat arena was revealed last year. Casey’s General Stores, based in Ankeny, secured the naming rights after about eight months of discussions with Polk County and Oak View Group, which manages the Iowa Events Center, including the arena.
This agreement concludes a 20-year partnership with Wells Fargo, which officially ends on June 30.
The removal of existing signs and preparatory work is expected to last approximately two weeks, after which the new Casey’s Center signage will be installed on the arena’s exterior.
Casey’s is investing $18.3 million for the naming rights to the arena.

The revamped arena will feature a new Casey’s grab-and-go store near the south entrance, along with new food options such as Casey’s pizza and branded snacks. Enhanced concourse wayfinding and new digital signage on the exterior are also planned.
