Week 6 of the high school football season is in the books for Washington County’s seven public-school teams. Here’s how they fared:
North Hagerstown 28, Williamsport 20

Ty’Qwell Fauntleroy rushed for 149 yards and three touchdowns, and the Hubs (5-1) scored the first 28 points before holding off a comeback attempt by the Wildcats (4-2) at Mike Callas Stadium.
Bryant Noubissie blocked a Williamsport punt to set up Fauntleroy’s 3-yard TD run midway through the first quarter.
Late in the period, Colt Butts threw a 44-yard TD pass to Garett Forrest to double the Hubs’ lead. Butts completed 7 of 9 passes for 107 yards in the game.
After initially being stopped short, Fauntleroy powered into the end zone on a second effort for a 1-yard score late in the second quarter for a 21-0 halftime lead.
Fauntleroy’s final TD, a 38-yard run around left end, made it 28-0 with four minutes left in the third quarter.
David Grayton got the Wildcats back into the game with a pair of return TDs. The first, a 97-yard kickoff return immediately following Fauntleroy’s final score, cut Williamsport’s deficit to 28-6. It’s the second-longest kickoff-return score in county history.
Grayton’s second return TD, an 87-yard punt return, got the Wildcats within 28-12 with 8:57 left in the fourth quarter. Grayton became the eighth player in county history to return two kicks for scores in a game, and the third to return both a kickoff and a punt for TDs in the same game.
Williamsport quarterback Gabe Parker engineered a late scoring drive that included a 36-yard pass to Jeremiah Ballard inside the red zone. Parker and Tae’myj Boyce-Brown hooked up for a 14-yard TD and a conversion to cut North’s lead to 28-20 with 1:28 left.
Out of timeouts, the Wildcats had to attempt an onside kick. The Hubs recovered it and ran out the clock.
Damean Thomas had an interception and a fumble recovery for North. Noubissie forced two fumbles and had two sacks in addition to his blocked punt. Ben Distefano had two sacks and a fumble recovery. Michael Stewart also recovered a fumble.
Clear Spring 14, Smithsburg 7
Alex Matthews rushed for a pair of short touchdowns, and the Blazers (2-4) snapped a four-game losing streak by rallying past the host Leopards (3-3).
After Marquis Weakfall’s interception gave Smithsburg possession at its 12-yard line, Luke Scott threw an 88-yard TD pass to Nicolas Roncone to give the Leopards a 7-0 lead early in the second quarter.
Matthews’ first score, a 4-yarder, tied the game at 7 later in the period.
Matthews added a 3-yard TD with about nine minutes left in the fourth quarter for the winning points.
A late sack by Kayden Selby helped seal the Blazers’ victory.
Jaxon Dodson had an interception and Hunter Drill recovered a fumble on defense for Smithsburg.
Musselman 37, Boonsboro 14
The host Applemen (2-4) scored the first 37 points to end a four-game winning streak by the Warriors (4-2).
Boonsboro scored both of its touchdowns in the final five minutes. Blake Main ran for a 3-yard score and threw a 50-yard TD pass to Jadon King.
Saint Frances Regional 40, South Hagerstown 21
Josiah Davis scored two touchdowns and Tavon Harris had a TD for the Rebels (2-4) in a loss to the Panthers at School Stadium.
Stonewall Jackson 20, Hancock 8
The Generals (1-6) earned their first win of the season against the host Panthers (0-6).
