Otherwise, 80 euros would be due from next month. With number 0211 95586809, the fraudsters put on time pressure and claim that payments for a subscription are in arrears.

The fraudsters behind the Hamburg numbers have refined their tactics. They use the same number block, but often change the final digits. A person affected by the number 040 855983156 reports: “Although the numbers have been blocked, the harassment continues because the caller changed the final number three weeks.”

This strategy makes it more difficult for consumers to block all variants. Some callers even pretend to be a termination service from Lotto24 or claim that the legislator has changed notice periods for competitions. But how should those affected best react to such calls?
