RABAT – 2025/06/23 01:50:33 – Lebanese singer WAEL JASSAR has expressed his delight following a triumphant concert at the Mawazine Festival’s 20th session. He emphasized that the Moroccan audience’s enthusiastic interaction provided him with exceptional energy on stage, and he expressed his desire to return to perform in Morocco again.
In a statement, JASSAR said, “The Moroccan people are lovers of music and possess a high artistic taste… They made me live an unforgettable night.” He explained that he hasn’t performed songs in the Moroccan dialect due to its difficulty, despite his admiration for it and his thankfulness for local stars like SAAD LAMJARRED and ASMA LAMNAOUAR. “I cannot master it, but I love listening to it a lot,” he admitted.
Regarding his opinion on the new generation of singers, JASSAR explained that he is open to young voices and enjoys some of their musical styles. However,he stressed the importance of preserving the essence of authentic art,adding,”I am not against the new generation… I encourage it, but on the condition that what they present is respectable.”
During his concert at the National Theater, JASSAR performed a selection of his most popular songs, which the audience sang along to enthusiastically. Highlights included “El Nas El Gheryebin” (the Strange people),”Ajmal Ayam” (The Most Beautiful Days),”Kol Waad” (Every Promise I Promised You),and “Law Kont Ta’raf” (If You Knew My Torment).
The 20th session of the Mawazine Festival featured a diverse lineup of stars from the Arab world, including SHERINE ABDEL WAHAB, KAZEM EL-SAHER, NANCY AJRAM, RAGHEB ALAMA, MAGDA AL-ROUMI, TAMER ASHOUR, and MOHAMED HAMAKI.
